Job Description:
COMMUNITY CENTER MANAGERSalary: 115 - $35,827.00 annual
salary.Purpose of ClassificationPerforms supervisory work in
support of the assigned center, programs, or function. Duties
include overseeing center operations, providing the public with
information about the center and its amenities. Positions in this
class perform routine administration and identify needed corrective
actions to resolve discrepancies; answer questions, and maintain
documents and records.Essential FunctionsThe following duties are
normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of
the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the
work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this
classification. Other duties may be required and
assigned.Collaborates with non-profit organizations and/or agencies
to educate the community; distributes and sends out flyers
regarding events such as Health Fairs and Back to School health
fair; provides care for kids during summer.Performs janitorial work
such as clean restrooms, mop, sweep, and landscaping; assists with
community service providing a place to do community hours for
defendants that are sent by the court.Collaborates with vendors to
help assist with donations for events. provides referrals and
assistance to clients as needed.Answers telephone and takes
messages; drafts correspondence, memoranda, etc., for the
supervisor's signature/response; transmits information to county
departments as needed; responds to e-mails, scans, and sends
documents.Manages daily operations of center; oversees maintenance
and upkeep of center grounds to include restrooms, landscaping,
mowing tree trimming, edging, and trash collecting.Oversees
maintenance and repair of all facilities within the centers and
parks, including numerous bathhouses, three swimming pools, a
baseball field, electricalwater services, security lighting, and
mechanical equipment.Provides assistance and information to
employees, managers, vendors, citizens, local businesses, and/or
and other interested parties regarding assigned center functions;
serves as a liaison between supervisors, vendors, and other
departments in regards to the amenities of the centers, center
hours, fees and center policies. Develops and/or explains policies
and procedures.Additional FunctionsPerforms other related duties as
required.Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in Business
Administration; supplemented by one (1) year of experience
performing administrative and/or managerial support work in the
field of public relations; or any equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience which provides the requisite
knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.ADA
CompliancePhysical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert
medium physical effort in medium work, but which may involve some
lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials
of medium weight (20-50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods
of time climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching,
crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting,
fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and
repetitive motion at a keyboard or work station.Sensory
Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and
discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require
the ability to communicate orally.Environmental Factors: Essential
functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse
environmental conditions.This position is subject to a six (6)
month probationary period prior to Civil Service eligibility. Must
