Veranda Rehab & Health Come join our team and start making a difference! Maintenance Assistant Full-Time Shift: Monday- Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm Saturday & Sunday: On-call. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is an essential function of the position. • Adheres to and assures compliance with Code of Conduct, facility policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards as promulgated by Federal, State, and accrediting agencies or regulating bodies. This includes, but is not limited to, Department of Health, Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other applicable regulatory agencies. • Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas. • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials. • Ensure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience. • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible. • Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. • Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed. • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures. • Clean windows and screens as directed. • Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties wherever necessary. • Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed. • Performs other duties as may be assigned. • Maintain confidentiality of resident information. • Knock before entering a resident's room. • Honor the resident's personal and property rights. • Inform resident when it is necessary to move his/her personal possessions.
