The Lead Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and
operational performance of all Youth Care Workers, Lead Youth Care
Workers and Shift Supervisor Youth Care Workers of an on-site
children's residential facility. Functions as the liaison with
other leads and any other on-site vendors. This position is
responsible for ensuring all areas of the assigned team are
functioning as required. They ensure contractual requirements and
client expectations are met at the on-site residential facility.
Reports to the Program Director.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established
standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable
professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard
for which CHS is recognized.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures the supervision of assigned on-site Youth Care Worker
Provides documentation of supervision by maintaining a
supervisory log for all staff supervised.
Completes all required documentation that pertains to this
position in a timely fashion that may include daily reports.
Ensures that appropriate shelter care and line of sight
supervision of unaccompanied minors by assigned staff is handled
appropriately and organized.
Supports the Site Lead through formal or informal supervision
and provides staff with ongoing feedback.
Communicates frequently with other shelter site departments and
support staff regarding pertinent information about residents.
Assists during transition and movement of children from one
activity to the next and one physical location to another.
Participates in ongoing meetings, conferences, training programs
Helps coordinate on-site community meetings, understands group
dynamics, promotes and maintains a positive peer group culture.
Provides coverage for assigned staff when needed.
Provides security monitoring.
Ability to operate surveillance camera systems.
Responsible for adhering to all CHS, contract and other state
Performs duties in a safe manner.
Follows the corporate safety policy.
Participates and supports safety meetings, training and
Ensures the safe operating conditions within area of
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3 years of relevant experience or previous ORR Shelter
Must demonstrate experience training and leading others and
adapting to diverse situations.
Minimum age of 21 years or older.
Must have the ability to resolve unforeseen problems with little
or no direction from manager.
Excellent presentation skills as well as oral and written
communication skills required.
Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS
Office products required.
Bilingual in Spanish & English (Read, Write, Speak).
Clean criminal background check.
Clean child abuse and neglect or child protective services check
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized,
and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations
(Emergency Task Order or Cooperative Agreement).
Able to evacuate at short notice to accompany residents possibly
to a different city for several days at a time.
Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in child care or residential
care for adolescents.
1 Year Operations Experience.
Ability to ascend/descend stairs.
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
Able to communicate verbally and listen to constant surveillance
of children's activities.
Ability to stand; particularly for sustained periods of
Able to receive and understand detailed information through oral
Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather
(rain, lightning, and winds).
Able to withstand and manipulate through construction areas,
sports fields, etc.
