Summary: Responsible for overseeing the design
and implementation of all activities of the Quality Control
function. These activities include ensuring compliance with Company
Policies, and applicable standards such as NSF, ASTM, and ISO 9001.
Accountable for the disposition of defective material. Review
customer complaints and other adverse quality trends and guides the
team on activities to reduce and eliminate recurrence through
application of Root Cause Analysis and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA)
Cycle. Carry out other duties as may be assigned by Sr.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the QUALITY MANAGER is to safely
and efficiently perform top-quality operational duties on a daily
basis which include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Direct oversight of QC Group Leaders, inspectors and quality
- Responsible for ensuring that the Quality Department
activities, staffing and structure adhere with annual budget and
overall long-term business plans for LASCO Fittings, Inc.
- Review testing protocols and frequencies against ASTM standards
(with Engineering) and streamline/reduce testing based on known
data that is gathered to support reduction in QC testing.
- Establishing, maintaining and execution of a document control
- Work directly with Engineering and Product Development to align
new product testing with existing strategies and protocols within
the Quality Control laboratories.
- Oversee execution of action items defined and agreed upon
during Quality Audits (NSF, ISO 9001, Customer Audits, etc.) and
ensure adherence of these activities to established deadlines.
- Manage the evaluation of customer complaints, and report the
results of investigations to Outside Sales, and other vested
- Plan, develop and execute Quality improvement activities with
the Quality Action Team Leaders and appropriate Operations
- Comprehends and applies NSF/ASTM Standards and test methods, as
- Participate in general administrative programs such as
management projects, profit enhancement programs, material and
energy conservation, quality and process improvement programs.
- Work with outside Inspection, or Listing agencies (NSF,
Intertek) as required for product approval.
- Oversee adherence to the LASCO Fittings, Inc. Quality Policy by
guiding and directing continuous improvement activities and
- Perform special studies and/or duties as assigned by Sr.
Supervisory Responsibilities: All Quality
Control department personnel.
Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years in Quality
Control with at least 3 years managing direct reports. Position
also requires a background and working knowledge of statistics,
injection molding, product inspection, and lab supervision.
Education and/or Experience:
BS/BA in Engineering, Science, or Quality.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend
sufficient English to follow work instructions. Legible
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic
mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division, and averaging with both whole and fractional numbers.
Reasoning Ability: Capable of applying written
procedures to test results and initiate appropriate actions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
(Strongly Preferred) - ISO 9001:2015 Compliance Lead Auditor
Certification; NSF Credentials
