Transportation Specialist - Relief

Transportation Specialist (TS) is responsible for escorting and
transferring physical custody of Unaccompanied Children (UC) from
the assigned emergency shelter to another Office of Refugee
Resettlement (ORR) shelter or a sponsor. The Transportation
Specialist is required to maintain a flexible, organized and
efficient work schedule and is subject to work extended hours,
weekends and be on-call. The ideal candidate can work independently
and as a team player. Must be able to travel weekly for up to two
overnight trips per week. The temporary assignment may last up to a
three month period with limited scheduled days off. Travel expenses
paid, plus competitive hourly wage.
Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college (a
high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience
may be substituted for an associate’s degree)
years documented experience in a field related to human services or
a similar occupational area
working with at-risk youth
criminal background check and drug screen
Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) or child protective services
Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and
First Aid Certification (CPR). Must be able to supervise clients
during all forms of transportation via airline and ground travel.
Must be able to fly up to two (2) overnight stays per trip, per
week. Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs required to
complete daily tasks. Job requires extended periods of sitting and
standing (up to 6+ hours).
This is a twenty four hour residential emergency shelter facility
at which minors receive multiple services. Work shifts are subject
