MANAGER, HIGH POWER ELECTRICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: + Provide leadership, guidance, and direction as required to ensure all launch critical ground support equipment and systems are in correct launch configuration and in the best possible condition to minimize the possibility of a launch scrub + Lead a team of engineers to provide support for the design, operation, material/component selection and procurement, construction, activation, and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, and supporting infrastructure + Communicate with electrical utilities personnel for design/engineering and maintenance to provide support and direction to electricians and technicians during construction, activation, and maintenance of power distribution, motor control centers, test stands and equipment + Support testing campaigns by monitoring and reviewing critical issue tickets, responding in a timely fashion to troubleshoot and remedy electrical equipment + Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines to provide detailed electrical design and specification for the installation of new equipment and systems. This includes, but is not limited to: + Electrical power distribution systems + Switchgear and motor control centers + Exterior and interior lighting + Ground support system controls and ladder logic + Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units + Standby and emergency generators + Automatic transfer switches + Power monitoring hardware and software + Data/phone distribution and wiring + Building and site grounding systems + Fire alarm systems + Lightning Protection Systems + Provide electrical engineering support to electrical technicians in troubleshooting existing electrical equipment and controllers + Provide engineering support for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of all the facility electrical components and systems for our launch facility, including: + Load flow analysis of electrical power distribution systems + Electrical equipment evaluation + Building and facility equipment grounding + Power monitoring hardware and software + Ensure that all equipment interfaces properly with other mechanical and electrical systems, including ensuring compatibility with facility power budgets + Coordinate all electrical installations and maintenance activities with local KSC and CCAFS electrical utilities personnel + Ensure all electrical designs and installations confirm to applicable codes and regulations + Provide code review and analysis utilizing NFPA 70E, NFPA 70 NEC, NFPA 497, NFPA 101, Vol 5 & 6 AFSPCMAN 91-710, and IBC BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSE) degree + 5+ years of experience providing leadership and guidance to electrical engineers PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + 10+ years working experience as an electrical engineer in the Aerospace or similar Industry + Experienced with the design, troubling shooting, and preventive maintenance with single-fault tolerant power distribution systems, double-ended switchgear with auto-throw over, UPS's + Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Industrial Pumps + Previous experience working as an electrician + Experience with medium voltage distribution + Experience with control panel design and production + Working knowledge of power coordination and Arc Flash + Industrial background + Good team-working skills + Able to work on multiple tasks concurrently + High level of self-motivation, with the ability to work under minimal supervision + Good organizational skills + Able to prioritize and schedule workload + Excellent communication skills ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: + Occasional travel may be required + Ability to perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters, or at heights + Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed + Ability to remain focused while working in hazardous environments and while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) + Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under possible extended work hours + Ability to pass Cape Canaveral Air Force Station background check.
