  • Work as part of a team of engineers and technicians to design and build an operational offshore rocket launch and landing facility.
  • Own the execution of system build and commissioning projects in the field. Projects could range from large scale construction ops, lifting and rigging plans to the implementation of fluids or controls systems
  • Work closely with engineers across multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, controls, fluids, launch) and apply specific offshore systems technical expertise to review designs and facilitate successful integration of an operable final product


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine engineering
  • 1+ years' experience in a professional engineering role, or college project team setting


  • Previous SpaceX design, build, activation experience
  • Previous experience living or working offshore, or professional experience in the marine/offshore industry
  • Experience working on complex, multi-disciplinary design and build projects, specifically in the offshore context
  • Knowledge of Marine Systems; DP system, Thrusters, Diesel Engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electric motors/pumps.
  • Demonstrated complete project ownership in a field/hands-on/operational type role
  • Graduate degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Marine engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Proficiency with modeling software suites; such as NX.
  • Experience with metallic fabrication processes - conventional and CNC milling/lathing, welding, waterjet, field machining
  • Experience authoring technical documentation: inspection plans, operational procedures, activation, checkout or proof test plans
  • Knowledge or experience working with certification agencies, Coast Guard or other regulatory bodies.


  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to work extended hours
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces
  • Must be able to pass Cape Canaveral Air Force Station background check
  • Ability and willingness to pass basic physical and Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET)
