The primary role of the Wellness Coordinator is to educate
clients on a variety of wellness and fitness
activities that will benefit the clients physical and emotional
health, as well as enhancing their sober
Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare or implement budgets and strategic, operational,
purchasing, or maintenance plans.
Maintain or arrange for maintenance of fitness equipment or

cardiovascular conditioning, or general
fitness of participants.
Recommend or approve new program or service offerings to promote
wellness and fitness,
produce revenues, or minimize costs.
Operate, and instruct others in, proper operation of fitness
equipment, such as weight
machines, exercise bicycles, benches, hand weights, and fitness
Manage or oversee fitness or recreation facilities, ensuring safe
and clean facilities and
Develop individual and group exercises to address our clients
general physical fitness needs.
Integrate 12-Step language within the realm of individual and group
fitness planning and
Implement interventions place on the client treatment plan.
Document individual progress notes and wellness goal reviews.
Attend and participate in weekly multi-disciplinary treatment team
Teach and advise co-workers on appropriate fitness interventions
for individual and group
Knowledge of the organizations customer base, industry trends, and
current best practices.
Exhibit understanding of proper safety precautions, procedures and

Bachelors Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or a related
Minimum one (1) year experience working in treatment setting.
Certified Fitness Trainer preferred.
Nutrition certification preferred.
If in recovery, one (1) year of continuous sobriety preferred.
Must produce and maintain a valid drivers license and pass MVR
requirements per policy.
Must possess the ability to express ideas clearly in both verbal
and written forms.
Knowledge of weight training, yoga, and athletics.
Must be thoroughly familiar and be able to demonstrate knowledge of
the principles and
programs of the various 12-step fellowships.
Provide services for clients to assess and develop wellness skills

Develop and facilitate wellness groups, providing education,
information, and practice of the
