Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position involves the study,
planning, data entry, and maintenance of fuel and energy related
activities.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review a snapshot of the BPUB's energy and capacity
position i.e. gas prices, unit availability, historical and
projected peak loads, and demands. Coordinates and performs the
proper credit and auction submittals of financial instruments such
as Pre-Assigned Congestion Revenue Rights (PCRR), Congestion
Revenue Rights (CRR) to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas
(ERCOT) Market Information System (MIS). Compiles data related to
the purchase, sale and transportation of fuels used for electric
power generation and the purchase, sale and transportation of
electrical energy and capacity. Performs accounting work involving
the maintenance of fuel and energy financial records and reports on
a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
Reconciles monthly fuel, energy & transportation invoices.
Responsible for recoding monthly fuel, energy & transportation
invoices to distribute expenses accordingly. Gather and complete
fuel and energy data reports used for simulation modeling.
Responsible for the data entry of the fuel & purchased energy
departmental budget. Assists with audit engagements when necessary.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of electrical theory and power production. Knowledge in
the operation of the electric generation, transmission, and
distribution systems. Knowledge of ERCOT protocols and North
American Electric Reliability Corporation standards. Knowledge in
the administration and implementation of contracts.
Computer skills using Microsoft Office programs. Professional oral
and written communication skills in English.
Ability to prepare complex financial reports. Ability to follow
complex oral and written directions.
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to
exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative. Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the
public and internal customers.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting field
and three (3) years of experience in the electrical utility
industry. An appropriate combination of education and experience
may substitute for the minimum experience requirements.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Requires a valid Texas Driver License or receipt of a valid Texas
Driver's License within 90 days of relocation to Texas and a safe
driving record, as measured by company policy.
